Feelspoon ("we", "us", the "app") is a recipe organizer that lets you save,
organize, and cook recipes. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the
choices you have. We aim to collect as little as possible.
Information you provide
Account. When you create an account we collect your email
address, a password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never
in plain text), and the name you enter.
Your content. Recipes, meal plans, shopping lists, and
profile preferences (such as dietary preferences, household size, and units)
that you create in the app.
Recipe capture. When you import a recipe, the link you
paste, the text you paste, or the photo you scan is processed so we can turn
it into a structured recipe.
Information collected automatically
Basic technical data required to operate the service (for example, the
authenticated session needed to sync your data).
Crash reports and diagnostics. If the app crashes or hits
an error, we collect crash logs and basic device and performance information
(via Sentry) so we can diagnose and fix the problem. When you are signed in,
these reports are associated with your account ID so we can trace an issue to
a specific session.
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app
tracking, and we do not sell your data.
How your information is used
To provide the app: store and sync your recipes, plans, and lists across
your devices.
To capture and generate recipes from links, text, photos, or prompts.
To send local reminders you opt into (e.g. a daily meal-plan nudge).
To maintain security and prevent abuse.
Third-party services
We share data with the following providers only as needed to deliver a feature:
Supabase — hosting, authentication, and database for your
account and synced content.
Anthropic (Claude) — when you import, scan, paste, or
AI-generate a recipe, the relevant link, text, photo, or prompt is sent to
Anthropic's API to extract or generate the recipe. It is not used to train
their models.
Pexels — for recipes without their own image, a dish name
may be sent to fetch a stock food photo.
Instacart — if you tap “Send list to Instacart”, your
list is copied to your device’s clipboard and the Instacart app or website is
opened. Your list is not transmitted to Instacart by us —
nothing is sent unless you paste it there yourself.
Sentry — crash and error reporting. Receives crash logs,
diagnostic information, and (when you are signed in) your account ID when the
app encounters an error.
Data storage and retention
Your content is stored on our servers (Supabase) while your account is active,
and a copy is kept on your device so the app works offline. We keep your data
until you delete it or delete your account.
Recipe photos. A photo you attach to a recipe is uploaded and
stored so it can appear on that recipe across your devices. Image files are
served from an unlisted web address: they are not indexed or browsable, but
anyone given that exact address could view the image. Deleting the recipe or
your account deletes the stored file.
Your rights and choices
Access & edit. You can view and edit your recipes,
profile, and content at any time in the app.
Delete your account. Settings → Account → Delete account
permanently erases your account and all associated data from our servers and
your device. This cannot be undone.
Notifications. Reminders are opt-in and can be turned off
in Settings or your device settings.
Children's privacy
Feelspoon is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and
row-level access controls so you can only access your own data. No method of
transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your
information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected
by the "Last updated" date above.
